I hate this Gen X trend

I hate the remakes from Hollywood. Particularly the movies that came out when the bicycle and skateboard were our main form of transportation. I see no reason for Tron to be remade except to somehow push what we thought was cool down the throats of younger generations to somehow impress upon them the notion that we're still relevant.

Tron was "ours". Let the youngins have something un-recycled they can call "ours".
And in a weird sort of way this is the right time to make Tron for that. Also the generation in between, the Gen X-ers and their kids, is now the age of Garret and my son Karl and those people are in their early twenties and it’s the right time for them to see Tron.

the result of too much junk food and video games

Come on, Kev, order a salad sometime.
Kevin Smith's most famous role is a guy who rarely speaks. But he's got a lot to say – much of it profane – after being kicked off a Southwest Air flight because he didn't fit comfortably into the seat.

"You [messed] with the wrong sedentary processed-foods eater!" Smith, whose next film, Cop Out, comes out Feb. 26, posted on Twitter.

Once a dickhead, always a....

Kirk Cameron was a tool even when popular during his time on the set of Growing Pains. Him, and the weasel from Silver Spoons, were the two guys my fellow middle-schoolers and I would most wanted to take in a back room and slap around like a human pinata.

So I certainly got a hee-hee chuckle from this: (via LGF)

There are plenty of single women in Cali.....

Uhhhh Reggie......it's a good thing the guy didn't shoot you instead of having a banner fly over SoCal reading "Reggie Miller Stop Pursuing Married Women".

Ber-Chicka-Ber-Ber

Nice. Really nice. Your goddamn ADD has hurt the porn industry. No longer do we have the plot of the TV repairman walking into the bedroom of 2 nekkid women that just happened to step out of the shower.
Great writers would craft feature-length scripts worthy of the performers who would swallow each word as if it were their own, give it full dramatic meaning, and lift the whole spectacle to sublime levels.

Then the Web came along to debase the art that was pornography.

Gen X parents need to be paddled

In case you Gen X parents want to be scolded by what looks to be a Millenial please read on.....
MSNBC recently reported that today's kids are ruder than any other generation. Odd, concludes the reports, considering that their Generation X parents (born between 1966 and 1977) are also touted as some of the most involved parents of the past few decades.

Boomer wannabe (update to text)

This guy should just turn over his Gen X membership to someone more deserving. Poor brainwashed guy thinks we should worship crap the boomers did. Let the baby boomer cars go to the junkyard when the baby boomers go to the graveyard.
I was fortunate to have a Dad who taught me about cars as I grew up and it was more than just nuts and bolts, but also an appreciation for what these antique cars were capable of in their heyday. Attending car shows and race events made me want to someday own a “muscle car”, and a few years ago we found our 1972 Dodge Demon 340. I will be turning 31 this year, and when I attend local classic car shows I generally find that I am usually the youngest person in attendance. There are other owners my age, but in most cases they are driving much newer vehicles so I’m lead to wonder, is my generation dropping the ball on the classic and antique sports cars?

You gotta know when to turn the page on the past, Mr. Rall. Holding onto what your father held as important is just retardo. Hell, it's not as though baby boomers said "Gee, I gotta have me a 1923 Duesenberg like mah daddy had".

Turn the lights off when the show is over, fer christsakes. I mean, Jeebus, I bet this guy thinks Crosby, Stills and Nash is the most awesomest band evvvahhh, too.

I love when we're #1 at something

Although this is nothing to be proud of.....
The generation leading the revolution in divorce is, of course, Gen X. The biggest change is that there is a generation of people getting a divorce who were more or less equals in parenting and in work. Baby boomers talked about it, but when the women went to work, they did all the housework and childcare as well. Not as true with Gen X.

I'm a 'No Tell Motel' kinda guy

I've stayed at places that stole my towel.
Among Generation X (adults born between 1965 and 1978), the most preferred hotel is Holiday Inn, too. Other much-liked hotel brands are Marriott and Hilton.

Among Baby Boomers (adults born between 1946 and 1964), the three most popular hotel chains are Marriott, Holiday Inn, and Hilton—with no clear favorite. These three hotels were favored twice as much as brands like Sheraton, Hyatt, and Comfort Inn.
Holiday Inn our favorite, huh? Well we've never been accused of having class.

Please Kill Me

It's really unsurprising. We're all sold-out baby boomers now.
Pearl Jam was indeed recording a Target commercial under the direction of Cameron Crowe last week at Seattle's Showbox theater, Billboard can confirm. But there's more to the story than an exclusive retail relationship.

Fuck an A. And these were the same guys that stood up against Ticketmaster?? I now admire a boomer band like KISS more because they were at least honest. They always said they were in it for the money.

Great job fuckhead!

Despicable Florida redneck, Bucky Dennis, is once again trying to compensate for being hung like a field mouse.
Port Charlotte fisherman Bucky Dennis caught a 1,060-pound hammerhead shark over 13 feet long Thursday morning in Boca Grande Pass. The 12-fathom-deep pass is known for its big tarpon and even bigger sharks. It is not uncommon for anglers to see their tarpon catches bitten in half by big bull sharks and giant hammerheads. To be more precise - great hammerheads.
I know it may seem like he's doing a public service by killing a giant shark, but this weak dick azzhole is all about killing for the sake of killing. People are not on the menu for sharks. Really! I've seen, one time felt, sharks when surfing and they really want nothing to do with peeps. At most they come up, have a look, and go about their business.

Bucky ended the long life of a 1200 LBS hammerhead a few years back that carried 55 pups in her belly, fucking up the ecosystem balance, and now he killed another female during breeding season. Yeah, happy Mothers Day, Bucky. I hope you get hit by a bus.

Time to break out the leather belt

I'm not a parent, so I don't have much interaction with annoying kiddies that I'm going to tell "get off my lawn" in a few years. I just hope those that are raising kids aren't as horrible as this article suggests. Although one lesson no generation of parents ever seem to learn is their kid is not going to be the Michael Jordan-Albert Einstein combination their bearers think of them as.
On paper, it doesn’t add up. After all, by many accounts Generation X may be the most devoted parents in American history. They are champions of "attachment parenting," the school of child-rearing that calls for a high level of closeness between parents and children, Many Gen-X parents co-sleep with their children, hold them back from entering kindergarten if they feel their children’s emotional maturity is at stake and volunteer at their kids' schools at record rates. Gen-X moms have been famously criticized by early feminists for dropping out of the workforce to care for their young children.

Can't believe this didn't happen in FL

You had me at "wanted a piece of this".....
A man taking a pee in his front yard waved his penis at the woman living next door then sprayed her car with urine during a neighbourhood row at White Rock, Cairns.

Father of four Stephen Charles Smart, 42, who pleaded guilty to wilful exposure in Cairns Magistrates' Court recently, also asked the neighbour if she "wanted a piece of this".

I can laugh at this now

I felt really betrayed when Peter Steele, from the band Type O Negative went on the Springer show. The dude that looked over his mic at the audience with a death stare and wore more black than an undertaker became a guest on the same stage that had previous guests explaining to the world why they married their sister-cousin.

Oh well. It's comedy now.

Johnny and Kenny from Type O Negative have a new album for their band Seventh Void.

After being away from work...

...I've decided that it really sucks sitting in my office. Time to be a free agent and find something else to do (yeah, yeah I picked a great economy to do that, huh?).

Somewhere over the past week Tyler Durden dropped into my brain.

Et tu, Chris?

If he starts using "OMG" or "LOL" I swear to god I'll eat a dead dog dick.
It’s even attracting those that epitomize Generation X: Courtney Love, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and Chris Cornell (ex-Sound Garden) are all active (Twitter) users.

Some Xsters are horrible monsters

Yeah, the 1st thing I thought of when I heard of the mass murder in Binghamton, NY was "well some of them don't speak English". Go to hell Doughnut Debbie.
But it looks like most of those who were at the American Civic Association at the time of the rampage didn't speak English. And yet, most were there to take the citizenship test.

H/T: Sadly, No!

I can't beat them

...but I'm not going to join them, either.
The enormously popular Facebook now hosts 175 million active users. While the site was initially created to keep young Harvard students connected, the fastest growing segment of users is now those over age 35, research indicates, and users visit Facebook and similar sites several times a day.

Our timing really sux

2 recessions in a decade and we're still standing.....well for now....we can always move back into our college flop houses with 6 other roommates again.....right?
Matsumoto, 31, and other members of Generation X — born roughly between 1961 and 1981 — have been hit by an economic double whammy. While much has been made of the plight of older baby boomers, in less than a decade many Gen Xers have taken a hard spill off the Internet wave and now have been knocked down again by an ugly recession, one of the worst on record.
