David Foster Wallace 1962-2008

CLAREMONT, Calif. (AP) — David Foster Wallace, the author best known for his 1996 novel "Infinite Jest," was found dead in his home, according to police. He was 46.

WHY???????????? do people do this. I remember hearing an interview with him and thinking, "His brain does not work like anyone else's I've ever known." A loss, for sure.

I am so very bummed, and will be for some time to come.

In his honor, I am finally determined to read Infinite Jest. Currently, I am on page 37. I know, I know. Big deal. But every long journey begins with a first step, grassphopper.
