I want to own a new car. Nothing crazy, just something like the above ride. Fast reliable, not overly expensive. My current day to day ride has 296K miles. No bullshit. And I think I'm finally getting tired of little annoyances, like the trunk latch busting, and just want to not have any worries for 5 years or so. I've learned how to work on my cars and it saved me probably $15K over my lifetime, but I hit a point where working on a Toyota Corolla no longer feels fun. Oh well. Just a vent, I guess. In reality I don't think I can quit on my commuter car until the engine finally throws a rod or the tranny says "I will no longer leave 1st gear".

My Toyota Camry has 175k and is still going strong. It has never had any problems. My daughter drives a TC Scion that has been great. I hear you on driving a car that you don't have to dink with all the time.
My last 3 have been brand new ones, thank God, bec. there's no way I can do anything with a vehicle. Last one only got traded bec. it was close to 100,000 and was on the verge of having this or that needed.
Damn cars. I'd just as soon own a horse.
I own two horese. They require food and water every day. They are difficult to catch when they don't want to be ridden and generally a pain in the butt. They are nice to look at, though.
