RIP

Jeezus, another murdered.
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) - The Brazilian wife of former Canadian world boxing champion Arturo Gatti has been charged with his murder, police said Sunday.

Italian-born Gatti, who was 37, was found dead Saturday in the holiday flat the couple had rented in the northern Brazilian seaside resort of Porto de Galinhas.

I saw his last bout of his trilogy with Mickey Ward on HBO, and you couldn't look away. They shared a bond inside and out of the ring, and it was great to see. I loved watching Gatti fight.

Good column at the Newark Star-Ledger by Jerry Izenberg. He said the Gatti-Ward fights were "so brutal and so passionate that they could have fought inside a pay telephone booth." RIP Gatti.

The trilogy hit legendary status. Even their 1st fight would have gone down in boxing history without needing the other 2.
