Kid Rocky
Why did he go to a Waffle House? After the bars close that's where you go if you wanna fight.DECATUR, Ga. – Musician Kid Rock testified Thursday that he exchanged some tough words with a customer before a 2007 melee at an Atlanta-area Waffle House
restaurant but didn't start fighting until provoked.
"I gave it to him verbally, I said, 'Shut your mouth, man,'" the singer testified in DeKalb County court, adding that while members of his entourage hit Harlen Akins during the fight, the musician never landed a punch.
Robert James Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock, and five members of his entourage are being sued over the 2007 fight.

Why didn't he just dunk him? A former employee of NBA player Shaquille O'Neal is claiming that ball player may have taken the whole ‘Hack-a-Shaq' thing to another level.
The Boston Celtics center is being accused of computer hacking, destroying evidence

The "Careless Whisper" star has been bailed and is due to appear before magistrates in London on August 24.

They're just pretty rocks
Nothing more.Model Naomi Campbell has had plenty of courtroom experience, owing to her disconcertingly frequent violent outbursts at assistants, housekeepers, drivers, and police officers. But she may soon be expanding her juridical resume with a visit to the Special Court for Sierra Leone, a tribunal established by the United Nations to prosecute war crimes committed during that nation's civil war.
On Wednesday, a judge approved a subpoena compelling Campbell to testify later this month at the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor, who is accused of fomenting a vicious rebellion in neighboring Sierra Leone in order to plunder it for diamonds.

Billy Corgan. Forever an asshole.
The Smashing Pumpkins reunion with one original member. Great fun.As the 1990s grunge sensation The Smashing Pumpkins gears up for tomorrow's release of its newest EP, the band has just one familiar face left in the lineup: the mercurial frontman, Billy Corgan.
Corgan, 43, has replaced every member of the band. The last original member to move on was 45-year-old drummer Jimmy Chamberlin in March of 2009. Corgan, who stated publicly that he fired Chamberlin, replaced him with Mike Byrne, a Portland native who turned 20 in February.

I'm not a golfer
But I follow sports closely and I notice a lot of articles about Phil Mickelson have begun like this over the years:The TPC Sawgrass Players Stadium Course did its part on Sunday.I think he chokes a lot because he has banana tits. Any dude whose appearance would improve with the use of a bra has never become a great athlete.
Phil Mickelson just couldn't hold up his end of the deal.
The course regained its bite during the final round of The Players Championship and kept the third-round leaders from running away with the tournament, but Mickelson was unable to shoot the low round he needed to move up and have a chance to become the sixth golfer to win the Players more than once.

Gen X book out: The Ask
Not sure what this talk is of a Gen X midlife crisis? I thought we got it out of the way by having a early life crisis in the 90's?
The Gen X what? I wish I could inflect those paired pop-sociological clichés with the requisite irony, but my air-quote fingers are afflicted with incipient arthritis. The ridiculousness of the phrase is telling, though, since it registers the sense of absurdity, the innate nonseriousness, that has been this generation’s burden ever since the Canadian novelist Douglas Coupland christened us in his 1991 novel, “Generation X,” the title of which was inspired by the second-rate punk band that gave the world Billy Idol.
I see you rolling your eyes. That’s right, you: the one in the fake-vintage rock ’n’ roll
T-shirt and thick-framed glasses reading this on an iPhone at the sidelines of your daughter’s soccer game. But you know exactly what I’m talking about, pal. (And by the way: stop trying to be a hip alterna-sports dad. Just cheer, for God’s sake.)
We grew up in the shadow of the baby boomers, who still manage, in their dotage, to commandeer disproportionate attention. Every time they hit a life cycle milestone it’s worth 10 magazine covers. When they retire, the Social Security system will go under! When they die, narcissism will be so much lonelier.

Hard to find a hero
Wasn't kidding when I said before that the only people you should admire should also be dead. They'll never have a chance to disappoint you. Former Giants running back, and current NBC broadcaster, Tiki Barber is leaving his wife for a former NBC intern named Traci Johnson (seen at right). It's typical gossip fodder except that Ginny Barber, Tiki's wife of 11 years, is eight months pregnant. With twins.
If you thought Jaimee Grubbs got a lot of attention for having an affair with Tiger Woods, wait until Google gets a hold of Johnson, a former co-worker of Barber's who has been described by the New York Post as "sexy" and "a model-thin bombshell." And Tiki broke the news to everyone in the classiest, most thoughtful way possible: via press release
Here's the deal, and possibly new rule for guys that do well with the opposite sex(and probably for women, too, I just don't feel comfortable speaking for the other 1/2 of the population): No marriage certificate should be issued to you until you turn 30. Until that time you are to screw everyone that's willing, up to and including the chunky girl you meet at 3AM at Waffle House.
This is the only way I know that'll possibly prevent a mid-life crisis. If you've already 'done it all', you, in theory, should be less likely to stray later in life.

Hard to find a hero

Not only did he suck as a 2nd baseman, he's also a wife beater.
HOUSTON -- Former major league infielder Chuck Knoblauch has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on his common-law wife.
According to court records, Knoblauch entered his plea Tuesday in exchange for deferred-adjudication probation. Successful completion of his one-year probation could mean the conviction on the assault of a family member would be expunged from the record.

Let her have a second chance

The parade of self-righteous sports writers will will be all over this. Azzholes.
Calling it a “new part of my journey,” the former sprinter Marion Jones signed a free-agent contract to play for the Tulsa Shock of the Women’s National Basketball Association on Wednesday, resurrecting an athletic career derailed by her admission to using performance-enhancing drugs and a federal prison sentence for lying about it to federal investigators.

Spiking your vein may indicate you have a drug problem
Has he had anything go well for him after he turned 16?Troubled ex-teen star Leif Garrett pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to one felony count of heroin possession in a Los Angeles courtroom, less than a month after police stopped him at a downtown subway station.

Rut-roh
Not very Christian-like.In court documents posted on the gossip site Radar Online, Candi Holyfield claims Evander Holyfield struck her February 1 after she asked him about the heat being cut off. She said her husband told her she needed to put God first and asked her whether she had been tithing, then struck her when she refused to show him check stubs of payments to the church.

When Gen X goes wrong
Local hero Warren Sapp had his rights read to him early Saturday. Keep on reminding myself 'innocent until proven guilty'.Just another reason why all those I admire are dead. They no longer have the opportunity to disappoint me.

We're lame, too
No parents are viewed as "cool". If any GenXster thinks they're different know that they're delusional.
NOTE TO PARENTS: nothing is more lame than trying to act "cool" to a younger generation. Embrace the lameness and irrelevance that you inherit with age.
NOTE TO PARENTS: nothing is more lame than trying to act "cool" to a younger generation. Embrace the lameness and irrelevance that you inherit with age.
It is difficult to spend the day with a member of an older generation without hearing a phrase like “kids these days” and watching their grey-haired heads shake as young men walk by sagging their jeans.
This scenario truly raises the question: Is this generation that much worst
than the last? The answer: Of course not.

St00pid gossipy shit
So Tiger Woods allegedly crashes his ride after fleeing his wife who had a few questions about an alleged affair Tiger's involved in. Funny, but the police had a few questions for the couple, too. But since he's a celebrity he's able to speak to police at his convenience. This really is motivation to become famous. If I have another run-in with the law (the last time was 17 years ago when in college, so give me a break, I was drunk) I'm gonna tell them "Don't you know who I am? I'm Latchkey Man! I'll go to jail when I'm ready."
We'll see how well that goes.
