The financial downturn has left all sorts of casualties in its wake: more unemployment, depressed wages, and greater economic uncertainty. But I'd like to direct my angst at a different target -- the baby boomers.
A hidden effect of this crisis is that, in the workplace, as in popular discourse, they simply refuse to get out of the way.

Hey you boomers, get off of my lawn! (and leave the office, too)

Make that two followers for Professor Dan. Nice link. Nice post. Shitty predicament for our generation, though sadly not the first.
Meant to add: Won't be the last either.
So, if they leave the workplace and have no jobs and can't pay their house payment and can't sell their house and they're not old enough for that reverse mortgage yet -- can they rent out their house and then come and live with you?
Double-edged sword there.

K- no they can't live with moi. But I'm hoping we can put the boomers on a commune somewhere in central FL and lock them in and force them to listen to Simon and Garfunkel thru loud speakers 24 hours a day. Heehee!
