For Gen X, the report found that while they are not as motivated by power as Boomers, they are actually motivated by achievement.
Indeed power seems to be a focus that has peaked with Boomers, with Gen Y even less motivated by power than Gen X, though even more driven by the idea of achievement.
Perhaps more of an age related driver, the drive toward career progression is seen as a motivator most greatly by Gen Y, the youngest generation, with Gen X also more interested in progression than Boomers (who are largely at a career phase where progression is not their primary incentive).
