Thrifty advice for you broke ass beeeeyoooootches! Since their site is called Get Rich Slowly they seem to be in touch with reality. They'll never get a job at CNBC now.
In this era of financial ruins I now understand how a common person may feel tempted to buy a ski mask and revolver and make a little extra on the side.

There is a report out that the recession is creating bank robbers.
How nice.
But I just got back from vac. and I saw cars on the road with temporary tags, I saw new houses being built -- but what I really noticed, new churches being built.
I counted four and the fifth one was either adding on or just doing major rennovation, I couldn't tell. And that's over a three state span that I drove.
Have no idea what this means, per se, other than work is being done and people are attending church.
Really? In Florida there is very, very little construction. There are a lot of 1/2 built houses where the "owner" ran out of money.
Maybe it is the DC metropolitan area, but I've been waiting 2 weeks to get something done in my yard that I can't do myself -- and I'm a cash paying customer. I'm waiting for them to get me in the schedule. And that is not unusual.
I do believe people have cut back, but every day when I go home all the restaurants I go past are packed -- from Outback to Applebee's to Carrabba's to the Chinese rest. Not fast food places, per se, sit-down restaurants.
Try and get your car washed or detailed -- the wait is 2 hours. No, that is not a necessity at all, but it does need to be done sometimes and the line is forever. And they just opened a fancy new car wash place.
The mall has plenty of people in it, don't know if they're spending money, but when I go, I do have to wait in line.
The bank has extended hours and is always busy -- with 3 and 4 tellers. It's not just 1 teller when you go or 1 cashier at the store. Same with the grocery stores.
So I'm not saying here is the answer, but "somebody" is working here and "somebody" has a couple dollars.
BUT -- I don't see houses selling, tho, I see a lot of For Rent signs on houses.
Get Rich Slowly is indeed an Xer blog -- the blogger is 38-39 y/o.
