Nuke Bunker sold on eBay

I'm so old I recall thinking as a kid that we'd some day all turn green from radiation.
LONDON – An underground Cold War nuclear bunker set in the picturesque English countryside has been sold on the auction site eBay.

It was sold by an unidentified private owner for 20,600 pounds ($31,000) Monday after more than 40 bids were received.
Never could figure out why people wanted to live in a world destroyed by nukes? Wouldn't it seem reasonable to want death over living in a bunker?

I remember a "Happy Days" story about everyone fighting over who would get to be in the bunker with the Cunninghams. Then the C's figure out that they don't want to be the only ones alive when all their friends get nuked.

Then there was the book "On the Beach" which was made into a movie in 1959.

My high school (cinder block construction in a tornado/hurricane state...good thinking there engineers) still had the bomb shelter signs in the hallways...and I graduated in 1985.

I don't think there's bomb shelters in FL? Not on the coast at least since it would be under the water table.
